Measurement and Installation Guide
Installation
Time
We advise that you give yourself one to two hours to install your sleek new post box, so that it can be done correctly. This is a fitting you can do at home with relative ease and the correct tools. Hire a professional if you are unable to safely preform the installation yourself.
What You’ll Need
- Your post box
- The fixings (they will come in the package with your mailbox)
- Spirit level
- Pencil/chalk
Instructions
- Before ordering, measure the length and space of the section of wall you want your post box to be mounted to (in mm) and check it against our product specifications.
- When the post box arrives, hold it in position against the wall to visualise where you want to install it.
- Read the individual installation instructions that will come with your post box, to note requirements.
- Open your post box and use a pencil or chalk to make a mark on the wall through the mounting holes on the back.
- Use a spirit level to check that the post box will be flat.
- Drill holes in the wall where you have made the markings.
- Don’t drill too far, as we suggest using a ¼ inch drill bit for brick walls or a 1/16-inch bit for wooden panels.
- Insert the screw through your mailbox and into the holes you have created, but only twist them roughly halfway.
- Use your spirit level to double check it is flat and adjust if you need to.
- Fix the screws in the bottom holes, only halfway again.
- Once you have decided on the position of your post box then go ahead and drill the screws fully into the wall.
- Congratulations, your new mailbox is now secure for you to use.

What can I fix my post box to?
Depending on the individual design you can usually mount your mailbox to a wall, such as outside the front of your house, by the front door. This can be accomplished by using a drill and screws to secure the fixture. Our American style mailboxes can be attached to a post, or we stock a black stand you can purchase to attach it to. (See our instructions on how to install)
Do I need to buy fixtures and fittings to install my post box?
The fixtures and fittings will be provided in the box when you order it. Check the individual product description, but most of our mailboxes come with the screws and fittings needed to secure your post box to the front of your house.
When will my post box arrive?
We offer shipping across the mainland UK, which will arrive within 1-3 days, or there is a next day delivery (including Saturdays) courier option on all our items. We also provide trade orders for large projects.
Do the post boxes come with a warrantee or guarantee?
Most of our post boxes are made of durable, rust-resistant steel so they have 1-2-year guarantees. Check the individual product descriptions to find out how long your product will be covered for.
How do I choose a post box?
We offer a wide range of products with different features. You can look for front loading (they open at the front) or top loading (they open at the top) post boxes depending on preference.
